Meyer Weekly
Oct 5 - 9, 2015
Message From Dr. Gordon
Picture Day was a great success. The children were very excited and showed their best smiles for the camera. Thanks to all the moms who helped! We’ve now completed our tulip bulb planting. We can hardly wait to see our school grounds in the spring!
Arrival To School
Please do your best to get your children to Meyer on time each morning. If you arrive late and the door is closed, please come to the front door and ring the doorbell. We will ask you to sign in your child with the reason for the tardy. If you need assistance of any kind, please contact our school office.
Socktober
Monday marks the official start of Socktober! We are participating in Kid President’s effort to find 2 million people to donate new pairs of socks to those who need them. (You can watch Kid President at this link.)
Please help your child learn the Meyer Socktober Pledge. We’re going to be saying it at Meyer for the first time on Monday morning, October 5, along with the Pledge of Allegiance, and weekly throughout Socktober. Please find a few minutes to shop together for a new pair of socks (any size, boy or girl) and send it in to school for our donation box. All socks will be brought to the Community Clothing Closet at St. Paul’s Church in Skokie on October 30.
Free English Classes For Parents
This is a great opportunity to learn English and improve your skills. There is still room, so come to Meyer on Saturday mornings, from 10:00 - 11:30 am.
Attention: Parents Of Kindergarten Students
Three enrichment classes start next week and there are a few remaining spots in the Music and Martial Arts classes. For more information, please ask your child’s teacher or contact Mrs. Paull by email. Classes start the week of October 5.
Peanut And Nut-Free Classrooms
As part of our ongoing effort to ensure a safe learning environment for all students, classrooms and other learning spaces in our building are peanut and nut free. Therefore, all snacks need to be peanut and nut free. Your child may continue to bring peanut and nut products for lunch, as we have peanut and nut free tables in our multi-purpose room. Thank you for your support and cooperation!
