Meyer Weekly

May 23-27, 2016

Message from Dr. Gordon

Dear Parents:

Thank you for coming to our Spring Celebration of Song!  Thank you for arranging your schedules to join us for this end-of-the-year celebration.  It’s a joy to hear our children sing and watch their enjoyment of music. A special thanks to Mrs. Maurer and Mrs. Judd for teaching music to our students.

We also thank you for attending the District Fun Fair. The money raised will help support activities and programs within our school district.

Students doing an experimentPlease join us on Thursday evening, May 26th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for the District 73½ End-of-Year Picnic. We are so excited to relax and have fun together. There will be great music, dancing, food, crafts and a special game with prizes. This picnic will be at Middleton School.

If you haven't already received an envelope in the mail from Meyer, be on the lookout for it.  In this envelope are the spring assessment results for your child.  You'll be able to see the progress your son and/or daughter has made in the areas of math and reading/readiness. To help you to  understand the reports, there are two opportunities for you to attend “Understanding Assessment Results” meetings (please refer to a flyer included in the mailing or to our “Coming Soon” section for additional information). If you can't make either of the meetings, please contact your child's teacher or me. We'll be happy to review the results with you and answer any questions you have.

Thanks to our PTA for providing a Mad Science experience for each of our classes this past week. The children really enjoyed these science explorations.

If you know of someone who has a preschool- or kindergarten-age student, please ask them if they're registered for the next school year, 2016-17.  If not, please refer them to Mrs Eisenstein in our office at 847.673.1223 or by email. Registration information is also available on the Meyer homepage.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,
Dr. Alison Gordon

Once you receive your visitor’s pass, please restrict your movement in the building to your pre-arranged purpose. Visitors entering the building after hours must be escorted by a district staff member to and from their meeting location.
