Science

Beginning in 2013, the district Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Leadership Team delved deeply into the new science standards and began to develop new units that align.  These new learning experiences are focused on students engaging in the process of learning science and problem solving rather than a focus on learning content. The McCracken Science Department have used their expertise to develop new NGSS-based units. In 2015-2016 select Kindergarten through 5th grade classes piloted the new units which use ETA Hand2Mind STEM in Action kits as the foundation. Our redeveloped Science Program has been in full implementation since the 2017-18 school year.
