Special Education and Speech Services

Any child between the ages of three and fifteen who is a resident of District 73½ and who is enrolled in a District school or in a private school is eligible for special education services. State and federal laws regarding students' records and the rules and regulations which govern special education require that parents be notified of certain rights, programs and procedures.

District 73½ works cooperatively with the Niles Township District for Special Education (NTDSE) to provide instructional programs for children who are eligible for special education services.

District 73½, in co-operation with the NTDSE, provides special education services to any eligible child between the ages of three and five.  To qualify for services, a child must be at least three years old and have participated in the required screenings and evaluation.  If you have questions or concerns about the development of your preschool-age child, you may request an evaluation by contacting Meyer School at (847) 673-1223.

If you have concerns related to a child ages birth to three years old, please call NTDSE at (847) 965-9040.
