Dear District Family,

Skokie School District 73.5 recently hosted four engaging roundtable discussions as part of developing our new Strategic Plan. In addition to those discussions, we have prepared a survey to collect feedback from anyone who was not able to attend in person. Your feedback will help us establish priorities, actions, and areas of work. This Strategic Planning cycle will begin in Fall 2023 and continue through Spring 2028.

The Strategic Plan Survey asks for basic background information. Our goal is to collect input that represents our district demographics. The four-part survey aligns to the four roundtable discussion topics. Each section asks six open-ended questions that you can choose to answer or skip.

The four strategic discussion topics represent our district priorities:

  1. WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT: Our community must feel welcomed. We are intentional in our engagement with students, parents, families, community, and staff.
  2. HIRING & RETENTION: We deliberately seek to diversify our high-quality staff with a focus and commitment on retention and development.
  3. ACCELERATION OF LEARNING: Our focus is on accelerating student learning. Our staff is committed to teaching grade-level standards with supports to mitigate unfinished teaching or unfinished learning.
  4. INFRASTRUCTURE & FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Our physical space must accommodate the programs we desire for our students’ instructional needs, extracurricular activities, and community meeting spaces. We must also create, maintain, and optimize a balanced budget.
