6th Grade Meet and Greet

Dear 6th Grade Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Just a friendly reminder about our upcoming Sixth Grade Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 18th! On that date, 6th grade students and parents/guardians are invited to visit McCracken Middle School between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to meet your child’s advisory teacher and familiarize yourselves with many of our sixth grade classrooms. See the schedule listed below for specific times by student last name. Please bring your child's course schedule which was sent in the mail, as well as your child’s labeled school supplies. We will have extra copies of student schedules if needed in the main lobby. Students will report to their advisory classroom first after picking up their lock and additional supplies. Advisors will begin assisting our sixth graders in the organization of their belongings, and help them ready their lockers in preparation for our first day of school on Wednesday, August 24th. 

Families can stop in the gym to pick up locks, PE uniforms, heart rate straps, and pre-purchased SchoolKidz kits. Students will need their school issued locks to secure school supplies in their assigned locker. Students are not allowed to use personal locks that were not puchased from McCracken.

The purpose of our Sixth Grade Meet and Greet is to provide families and students with support as our sixth graders transition into middle school prior to the official start of our school year; we hope you are available to attend! If your family will be out of town or is unable to attend the event we will have plenty of staff available to support your child on the first day of school. Sixth grade students stay with their advisory teacher the whole day on the first day of school and will be able to take a tour of the school with their teacher and classmates.
