McCracken Parents and Guardians:

During the mornings of March 11th-14th, McCracken will be administering the five test sessions that make up the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). IAR is the state assessment and accountability measure for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. IAR assesses the New Illinois Learning Standards Incorporating the Common Core and will be administered in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

As with all standardized testing situations, we are recommending:

  • Students fully charge their Chromebooks at home overnight to avoid any tech issues each morning of testing.
  • Students get a good night’s rest each evening before testing sessions.
  • Students eat a healthy breakfast on the days of testing.
  • Students arrive at school on time to ensure the smoothest start to the day. All students are expected to arrive at 7:50 a.m. and be seated in advisory by 8:00 a.m.
  • Students should bring wired earbuds or headphones with them to school on these testing days.

Important Reminders:

  • All students should report directly to their advisory classroom each morning of testing.
  • All students should bring a charged Chromebook, and headphones or earbuds as they will be needed each testing day.
  • Once testing is completed each day, students will follow a modified schedule, which allows each student to meet with all of their teachers each testing day. This schedule will be shared with students by their advisory teacher.
  • Students who are absent on testing days will participate in makeup sessions the week of March 18th-22nd.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions at 847-676-8234 or by email at [email protected].

Thank you for your support of our IAR testing.
