Superintendent's Welcome

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends of Skokie School District 73.5:

We are excited to welcome Dr. Zipporah Hightower to our school district as the new Superintendent of Schools, officially starting on May 1, 2021. As noted by our Board of Education, Dr. Hightower comes to us with an exciting background and will bring a lot of expertise and great insights to our school district. We will continue in our interim roles through the end of the school year and are looking forward to transitioning with and supporting Dr. Hightower as she comes to our school district.

We are also working hard on our updated Return to School Plan, and are carefully watching the COVID-19 incidence metrics, posted on our website, to know when it is safe to start bringing students and staff back to school. We look at all incidence data from the Illinois Department of Public Health Region 10 as well as the Skokie Health Department. More information will be coming out soon regarding the status of this planning, as well as a parent/guardian survey regarding their intent to have their students return when it is safe. We are implementing many safety measures to make the schools secure and safe when students and staff do return.

As always, thank you for your support of our school district and please contact us at any time with questions, concerns, or ideas.

John and Ellen Correll
