Congratulations to the McCracken Hornets Junior Varsity Basketball Team!
The Hornets brought home the Little 9 Basketball Championship at the final tournament game played Thursday night at Niles West High School.
"It was an exciting game," said Coach Bill MacBeth in a post-game recap. "We took the lead, and 'took it to 'em': playing tenacious D and outstanding team-oriented offense. Trailing briefly only once during the third quarter, we outscored our opponent 10-3 in the fourth quarter, eventually defeating Lincoln Middle School (coached by McCracken graduate Tony Granato) 27-18. The team worked hard and continued improving throughout the season, winning our final four games to finish 9-4 as we won the title."
