Ramadan Support for Students

Dear Skokie 73.5 Parents & Guardians,

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, we want to share how our schools will support students who may be fasting during the school day.

At McCRACKEN, students will be given an optional form to complete during advisory to request an alternate comfortable space to go to during their lunch period. Students will complete the form independently, and then McCracken administration will reach out to the responding students’ families to request permission for the student to go to the Learning Center during their lunch period. We will also have prayer mats available in the Learning Center for students who wish to pray. Paper copies of the Ramadan lunch permission slip are also available for students to take home for parent/guardian signature. Families who have questions or need additional information can reach out to McCracken administration at any time.

MIDDLETON families may complete this form to let staff know whether their child will be fasting during Ramadan and/or need a place to pray. Prayer mats and a separate location during lunch will be made available for students who are fasting. 

MEYER families may complete this form to let staff know whether their child will be fasting during Ramadan and/or need a place to pray. Prayer mats and a separate location during lunch can be made available for students who are fasting.
