District 73.5 will offer SUMMER SCHOOL for:
- Students entering grades 1-8 who are in need of academic support
- Students who are not making adequate progress (attendance is mandatory)
- Students who are absent 20 or more days (attendance is recommended)
Summer School will be in session from Monday, June 11th through Tuesday, July 3rd at Middleton Elementary School, 8300 St. Louis Avenue. The program is from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday (no classes on Fridays). Official registration letters for recommended students will be mailed home the week of April 16th. Please complete and return the registration forms indicating whether or not your child will attend and if he/she will require bus transportation by Monday, May 7th.
Class Times and Fees:
- ELA: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. $100
- Math: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. $100
Payments are due by Friday, May 25th and may be submitted to your child's school office or paid online at the Skokie School District 73.5 homepage. Summer school fees have been substantially reduced this year due to Title 1 Grant funds. Fee waivers are available to families in need of financial assistance.
The park district offers a section of Camp Iwannago to align with our Summer School program and they will include a full day of camp for students on Fridays. The camp section number is 220532-05. Contact the Skokie Park District for more information related to camp.
Bus transportation will be available at no extra cost. Students enrolled in ELA only will not be eligible for drop-off service and should be picked up at 10:00 a.m. Students enrolled in Math only will not be eligible for pick-up service and parents are responsible for arranging transportation to school.
