Around Town: 10 Years of "Coming Together"

WHEN:  Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE:  Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton Street in Skokie
WHAT:  Celebrating 10 Years of Coming Together

Please join us as we celebrate 10 successful years of the Coming Together Program featuring a pop-up museum, community art project, activities and refreshments. A brief panel discussion will include representatives from the past cultures featured in what may possibly be the longest ever showcase and celebration of a single culture! Representatives will discuss how they became involved in this award-winning program, how it has personally impacted their lives and answer any questions.

Past Cultures: India, Filipino, Assyrian, Greek, Korean, Voices of Race, Latino/Hispanic, Chinese, Muslim American, Poland

Also, if you are in town this spring break and you are looking for things to do, you may want to participate in these events featuring Poland (2019 featured culture):

  • Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    Artorium Open House (5719 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago)

    Art Activities for ages 5 and up includes sculpture, painting, drawing, weaving, digital arts, and much more
  • Saturday, March 30th at 9:30 a.m.
    Polish Youth Showcase ad the Niles-Maine District Library (6960 W. Oakton Street in Niles)

    Students from Ignacy Paderewski, Mikolaj Kopernik, and Maria Curie-Sklodowska Polish Schools will present a talent show highlighting Polish culture and History. Marzanna dolls created by some of our feeder districts will be on display! Crafts and snacks will round out the morning.
