District 73.5 will offer SUMMER SCHOOL for:
- Students entering grades 1-8 who are in need of academic support
- Students who fail a class (attendance is mandatory)
Summer School will be in session from Wednesday, June 14th through Friday, July 14th (no class on Monday, July 3rd and Tuesday, July 4th) at McCracken Middle School, 8000 East Prairie Road. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information regarding tuition cost will be available in the upcoming months. Official summer school registration letters with individual student registration fees will be mailed home in April.
2016-2017 Summer School Fees
Incoming 1st-5th grade fees are as follows:
- English Language Arts (2 hours): $245
- Math (1 hour): $135
Incoming 6th-8th grade fees are as follows:
- English Language Arts (1.5 hours): $190
- Math (1.5 hours): $190
Fee waivers are available to families in need of financial assistance. Contact your child's school office to obtain a fee waiver application. Families that qualify will receive a 50% discount on tuition fees. (Title I funding is not available for summer school 2016-2017.)
Bus transportation is available to and from summer school at no additional cost. Parents will identify bus pick-up and drop-off locations once registration is complete. The park district offers a section of Camp Iwannago to align with Summer School. It is the afternoon session 220532-05. The district bus can pick up and drop off at Oakton Community Center for students that are enrolled in Camp Iwannago.
